ESR 6: GLP-1 as a key player in the gut-liver axis: role in NAFLD

Project Summary

This project aims at better understanding the role of gut hormones (glucagon like peptide-1, GLP-1) during Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD) progression in both animal models and humans.

Research will include methodologies in measurement of plasma and tissue markers of lipotoxicity using mass spectrometry (GCMS and LCMS). The post-holder will have some scope to adapt the project based on their interests.
