Ciencia2019 was another edition of the annual meeting of Portuguese researchers, held in, Pavilhão de Congressos in Lisbon on 8/10.07.2019, where Project FOIE GRAS and Project RISE FOIE GRAS were presented.
The Science Meeting 2019 aims to promote the broad debate of the main themes and challenges of the scientific agenda beyond the universe of research. Therefore, the main objective of this meeting is to stimulate participation and interaction between researchers, the business sector and the general public.
It is promoted by the Foundation for Science and Technology in collaboration with the Living Science – National Agency for Scientific and Technological Culture and the Parliamentary Commission for Education and Science, with the institutional support of the Government through the Minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education, Manuel Heitor.
2019 is a special year full of scientific celebrations: 100 years of Arthur Eddington’s expedition to Sao Tome and Principe, 100 years of the International Astronomical Union (IAU), 50 years of man’s first landing on the Moon, 500 years of circum- and 150 years since the creation of the Periodic Table of Chemical Elements, with the United Nations and UNESCO declaring that 2019 would be the International Year of the Periodic Table of Chemical Elements.
