Biography
Mireia Alemany i Pagès, from Barcelona, Spain. She holds a BSc in Biomedical sciences from the University of Barcelona. Later on she pursued her MSc in Clinical and Cognitive Neurosciences at Maastricht University and as a part of that program, she went on to perform an internship at the behavioral neurogenetics group of Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand, where she wrote her master thesis. Now she is undertaking her PhD degree in Science Communication at the Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology (CNC) of Coimbra, Portugal.
Summary of ESR Project
Mireia is a FOIE GRAS Early Stage Researcher in charge of the ESR-13 “From the bench to the zeitgeist” project. The main focus of this project is to raise public awareness of NALFD and ultimately impact its prevention by promoting initiatives and activities targeting the general public. Besides boosting the scientific knowledge of the population through public engagement actions, the project is also aimed at inducing science communication within the network.
