MitoPorto – Advances in Mitochondrial Research International Symposium

2021.07.122017.05.26

FOIE GRAS members participated in the MitoPorto-Advances in Mitochondrial Research International Symposium, celebrated at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Porto, Portugal on the 26th of May 2017. Three of the FOIE GRAS personal investigators were part of the scientific committee: Cecília Rodrigues (iMed/FFUL, University of Lisbon, Portugal), Paulo J Oliveira (CNC. IBILI, Biocant, University of Coimbra, Portugal) and Carlos Palmeira (CNC. IBILI, University of Coimbra, Portugal).

The speakers at MitoPorto were specialists in mitochondrial research, both early stage and established researchers whose focus of study approach mitochondrial function from different angles. Such multidisciplinary perspectives included mitochondrial bioenergetics, genetics, and metabolism, and the implications of mitochondrial function and dysfunction in health and disease.
